Verano & South Tyrol

The Village

Verano (Vöran in German) is a peaceful mountain village on the Tschögglberg plateau, sitting at around 1,000m above sea level. It is close enough to Merano to enjoy its restaurants and thermal baths, yet completely removed from the crowds. The village has a supermarket, bakery, bank, and several good restaurants, all within a 3-minute walk from the apartment.

Summer

South Tyrol in summer is a hiker's paradise. From the front door, trails lead directly into the mountains and onto the high-altitude paths of Texel Nature Park, one of the largest protected areas in the Alps. Lower down, the cycle paths and orchards around Merano are perfect for leisurely rides, and the Merano thermal baths offer relaxation after a long day on the trails.

Winter

In winter, the Merano 2000 ski area is accessible by cable car from Merano, offering skiing and snowboarding across a wide range of pistes. From Verano itself, snowshoeing and winter walking are available from the door, through pine forests and across silent snowfields. The quieter winter season brings a completely different mood to the mountains.
